Make Your Own Foaming Hand Soap

Make your own non-toxic foaming hand soap

We all understand the importance of washing our hands to prevent the spread of germs and parasites, however, if you’re washing with a toxin-filled soap, you may be doing more harm than good.

Many soaps contain harmful chemicals like endocrine disruptors, hormone mimickers, and DNA-warping chemicals that are incredibly bad for your health. Not to mention the parabens and phthalates that are in almost every commercial body care product. I run toxin tests every day, and I see these chemicals on so many people’s tests. I also see the detrimental effects they are having on people’s health.

I know you want to avoid accidentally adding toxic poisons to your body! Here’s a super simple recipe for making non-toxic hand soap from easy-to-obtain products. The video shows you exactly what to do (in just 90 seconds) and the links to obtain all the supplies are below the video.

Gather your supplies:

~ Foaming hand soap pump

~ Canning jar

~ Dr. Bronner’s Castile soap in your favorite scent

~ Water

Amazon now sells cute hand soap dispensers and the canning jars along with them. I guess the country farmhouse decor theme is popular right now. But if that’s not your vibe, there are other styles of foaming hand soap dispensers you can grab on Amazon.

I bought the pump separate from the canning jar and just used a canning jar that I had on hand. If you don’t have a stash, look for jars at your local resale shops or garage sales. Dollar General usually has them for cheap too. And be sure to make a note of whether it is a regular mouth or wide mouth jar. You can purchase foaming hand soap pump dispensers for either size. You’ll just want to buy the right ones so they match.

Here’s an Amazon link to help you find the foaming hand soap dispenser jar and pump kits. They come in a variety of colors and finishes so you can get them to match your bathroom or kitchen.

Foaming Hand Soap Dispenser on Amazon. I use this one which comes in silver, black, or dark bronze.

Next you’ll want to grab some Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap in your preferred scent. I love peppermint, citrus, and lavender and have big bottles of each of them in my home. Or if you have a favorite essential oil scent, you can use unscented castile soap and add 25 drops of essential oil to the jar.

You can usually find Dr. Bronner’s products at Amazon, local health food stores, use your Thrive Market account if you have one.

Have fun making suds!!! And by the way, these make great gifts too!
